Have you seen anything more adorable?

If you haven't seen (500) Days of Summer, you honestly need to get off of your derriere and whether by Blockbuster, a Redbox, Netflix, or illegal streaming (I'm looking at you Putlocker and Sockshare...), watch it. These two are the bombdiggity. Honestly though. How could one not love them? Also, Zooey Deschanel? Too cute. Beyond cute. Exceeding adorable. There's not even a word. Watch the show "New Girl"; if it's even possible, you'll love her even more.

Also, bonus points for the use of the ukeleles.

Post-Christmas depression?

Whenever that magical 25th is over, I tend to realize how much I miss Christmas music. Now from the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas, I have indulged my love of Christmas rhythms and rhymes, spoilt by song after song spewing from the KOIT radio station: ♫ Ninety-Six Point Fiiiiiiiiiive, K O I T ♫

Sure, in the days after Christmas, it becomes socially unacceptable to listen to these kickin' tunes (just like wearing white after Labor Day, which I personally have never understood). But let's stand up to the man! Let's treat ourselves because we're awesome, and we deserve it! And so, to make it easy for you, I give to you my friends, a list of some of my favorite Christmas jingles.

Starting off with a song that isn't necessarily a classic but is certainly well-loved, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", in this version sung by Jackson 5 (you gotta love little Michael J), is a rocking song. And I happens to love it a lot. And you can't stop me.

You sing it Mariah! Oooh this song gives me chills. I cannot tell you the countless hours I have spent in the shower, trying to sound as good as the sound goddess Mariah. And sorry to dissapoint, but I still don't sound quite as good... but I'm working on it! "All I Want For [next] Christmas" is to sing like Mariah Carey.

Be doo be doo! "Santa Baby". Whatagreatsong. Santana (yes I'm bringing up Glee. What can I say? I'm a Gleek) sings it in her "husky" voice, as a friend of mine put it. But I had to go with the original whiny voice of Wham for this favorite song.

After taking 3.5 years of Spanish, this is one benefit I've gotten from it. I can sing "Feliz Navidad" with such confidence and poise, and actually know what I'm singing. Dontcha just wanna shake some maracas and let some "Ay ay!"s loose when you sing this song? Or maybe that's just me...

Oh that classic and immortal song. "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer". It's just too good. But of course, only the truly knowledgeable know the little phrases that go in between the lines. To give you a taste: "They never let poor Rudolf.." RUDOLF! "Join in any reindeer game." LIKE MONOPOLY!

Hehehe. This song makes me giddy. I have no idea why, it just does. "Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart" is a kickin' song. Listen to it, learn it, love it.

I hope you all enjoyed my pathetic attempt at pre-season caroling. Don't try this at home, kids!

On a happier (and much less pitiful) note, it's that time of the year again to head down to Sephora's and track down those expensive-but-oh-so-worth-it Urban Decay stocking stuffers.

You know what I'm talking about...

Anyways, I'm here just to hit the highlights before you go out shopping on your own. First up...

Urban Decay's new Stardust Lip Gloss:

Cannon Ball = THE. BEST. MASCARA. EVER. 'nuff said.

Naked Palette:

The finest creation known to man...made by Urban Decay that is.

I love the colors in this palette, and though I haven't gotten around to buying it yet, I can testify to the fact that it compliments all ethnicities, skin tones, eye colors, and hair colors. What else does?

Opera, here we went

Oh the Opera.
an art form synonymous with pompous aristocrats... but at least they're wearing pretty clothes!

Our class (awhile ago but still) partook in this long time honored tradition and attended a performance of Carmen at the San Francisco Opera house. And my were we looking fabulous.

As for the spinning flowy dress (actually it's a skirt, "the girl" is pretty short...), talk about a spinning hipster hippie.

And yes, the last three pictures of the same pair of shoes was very necessary for those shoes are so motherfreaking gorgeous, especially in person.

And beyond how good we were looking, there were some pretty feisty outfits from other people. Actually, this performance of Carmen was mainly for high school students, to get us to begin to appreciate opera. Among favorite looks that I saw were a rainbow cloak (yes, a cloak), fur coats, and completely extravagant evening dresses. There was also many, many a cape.

The actual opera performance of Carmen was pretty good. Sure it was in French, but there were supertitles. Different from subtitles. Google it. There's a difference.
